Assalamu alaikum,

Dit staat op de homepage:

Altafsir.com is a completely free, non-profit website committed to providing access to the largest collection of Quranic commentary (tafseer), translation and study. Begun in 2001 by the Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, Amman, the site is already fully operational and provides the original Arabic texts of over 90 books of tafsir (Quran tafseer or commentary), tajwid tutorials and hadith collections, and other fields, pertaining to the study of Quranic exegesis.

Altafsir.com contains a veritable wealth of material. In addition to presenting the standard tafsir (Quran tafseer) texts of all seven schools of jurisprudence, the site also contains works of various mystical, philosophical, linguistic and theological currents. For the first time in one place, comparative studies between the Shafii, Hanafi, Maliki, Hanbali, Jafari, Zaydi and Ibadi schools can be carried out complete with multi-screen displays and search programs. With the use of the latest technology, the resource allows cross-referencing and hyperlinks on a verse by verse and word by word basis.

The ongoing second phase of Altafsir.com will see the addition of translated classical texts of tafsir (Quran tafseer) specially commissioned by the project such as Suyutis Jalalayn, Ibn Abbas, Baydawi, Ibn Arabi, Baqli and Wahidi all undertaken by leading Western translators. They will appear first in English and later in over twenty languages for non-Arabic speakers. Altafsir.com has also commissioned the renowned Islamic scholar, Dr. Martin Lings to prepare a new English translation of the Quran and which will undoubtedly be the long-awaited definite English version. All the translated tafsirs (tafseer) are unabridged and will appear both online and also in book form.

To ensure that only the highest and most rigorously authenticated standards of Quranic exegesis (tafseer) are maintained, an international team of Muslim scholars assisted in the collecting, editing, reviewing and annotating of textual sources. Some of the scholars involved include Shaykh al-Azhar Sayyid Muhammad Tantawi, Ayatollah Tashkiri and the Mufti of Oman. Many of the texts are presented here for the first time with full diacritical marks.

Altafsir.com (Al tafseer) contains the tafsirs of the Holy Quran and all the essential resources to aid students and researchers. Quran translations are also available in 18 languages. The site also includes Quran recitations, Quran exegesis (tafseer) in Arabic and English, Quran syntax, the Contexts of Revelation (asbb al-nuzl), meanings of words found in the Quran, and works of the Quranic sciences.

Additional resources include a user-friendly interface for the study and comparison of all the established qiraat and maqams of Quran recitation. For students of tajwid and researchers alike, the differences between the Warsh and Hafs modes of recitation are a mouse-click away. The audio-video format will aid users in memorizing the Quran and also in studying and applying the rulings and variations in recitation styles.

As the second phase draws near to completion, you will find Altafsir.com to be a unique and invaluable Quranic source for a better understanding and appreciation of the Sacred Text of the Islamic faith the Quran.

Wassalam,

Amier.
